gabriela is a creative soul who didn't love painting or drawing as a child. She also didn't write stories or plays—although she directed one at the age of eleven and won a heart-shaped purple balloon for it. She didn't grow up adoring—or even watching—advertising because it didn't exist—and still doesn't—in Cuba, the country where she was born and lived for the first twenty-two years of her life.

Instead, she wanted to be a dancer until that dream was crushed by an old-fashioned school because she didn't look like a hungry giraffe. Nonetheless, Gabriela had an enormous need to express herself, and in her search for a medium where she could do that, she attended design school, where she discovered a world of tools that she could finally use to give form to the stories she wanted to tell.

In her journey to where she stands now, she's been fortunate to have the chance to explore various forms of storytelling in both the entertainment and advertising worlds. From ideation to completion, she's had fun playing with concept development, copywriting, art direction, video editing, and motion graphics.

Coming from a country where you're not always allowed to speak your mind, freedom of expression, and what you do with the power of your voice is not something she takes for granted. That's why, although she loves bringing ideas to life that build strong and honest bonds between brands and people, her passion also lies in giving voice to the causes that need it the most.

gabriela didn't know how to ride a bike (wait! she actually learned, because it's never too late, peeps), so when she's not trying to make the world a better place, you can usually find her enjoying long walks—or clumsy bike rides—with headphones on, in the hunt for a cafecito or croquetas.

She also likes long-form copy.
